Vacuum cleaner testing equipment, air performance testing mainly follows two mainstream standards, which are applied to different markets and routes:
1. ANSI/AHAM AC-1 standard: "Home Cleaning Vacuums - Performance Test Methods"
Core indicators: Suction power, airflow vacuum.
Features: This is the mainstream and authoritative standard in the North American market. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's "Energy Star" certification, American "Consumer Reports", etc., all adopt this standard. Its core is to measure and calculate air watts,
a physical quantity that comprehensively reflects the efficiency of the vacuum cleaners motor.
The test does not involve real dust and carpets, but is purely an aerodynamic measurement.
2. International/Chinese standard system - containing "su power" as a key indicator, standard number: IEC 62885-1 (international) / GB/T 20291.1 (, equivalent adoption)
Standard name: "Surface cleaning equipment - Part 1: Domestic dry vacuum cleaners - Performance test methods", core indicators: including suction power, air, vacuum, but this is the content of its Chapter 6 "Air performance test".
Features: This is a comprehensive performance test standard, and the air performance test is one of its chapters. It is highly similar to the principle of AC-1 in the U.S. standard, but there are detailed differences in the test conditions (such as size of the measuring mouth,
the length of the hose, the selection of working conditions),
which lead to the results that cannot be directly compared with the U.S. standard data. In the markets of China,
Europe, etc., this standard is more universal.
AHAM AC-1) and national standard (GB/T 2091.1) air performance test, national standard: IEC 62885-1
Test the air performance while measuring the input electrical power of the vacuum. Combined with the suction power, the output efficiency can be calculated. The airflow vacuum tester is a dedicated, standardized device for measuring the air performance of
the vacuum cleaner
Look at the suction power-vacuum curve and the peak suction power under the
IEC 62885-1/GB/T 2021.1 standard.
Performance curve: Show the performance of the vacuum cleaner under all working conditions.
Peak suction power: The highest suction power value on curve. This is the single performance indicator most commonly cited in the U.S. standard system.
Sealed vacuum: The maximum vacuum when the valve is fully closed.Maximum airflow: The maximum airflow when the valve is fully open.
