test project
1. Spray rain test simulates natural rainfall
-Simulate natural rainwater environments with different rainfall intensities, durations, and spray angles
-Check for water ingress at the seams, seals, wiring ports, buttons, and interfaces of the product casing
-After entering the water, check the insulation resistance and withstand voltage performance to avoid the risk of leakage and short circuit
2. Hanging pipe rain test UL commonly used structural waterproofing test
-Swing the pipe back and forth to spray the product on all sides at the specified angle and swing rate
-Covering the top, side, and bottom of the product, assessing the overall sealing ability of the entire machine in all directions
-Commonly used for UL certified products such as lighting fixtures, outdoor appliances, security equipment, power adapters, etc
3. Drip Test: Mild Rain/Condensation Simulation
-Simulate eaves dripping, light rainfall, and continuous dripping with low flow rate
-Waterproof verification for weak positions such as shell gaps, cover plates, screw holes, etc
4. The strong spray/high-pressure spray test corresponds to IPX5/IPX6 levels
-High pressure water flow fixed-point spraying product seams, openings, and heat dissipation holes
-Assess the protection capability of products under rainstorm and high-pressure washing scenarios
Supporting performance testing content
1. Appearance inspection
After the experiment, check for issues such as deformation of the shell, detachment of the sealing strip, loose buckles, and blistering of the coating.
2. Electrical safety testing
-Insulation resistance test
-Voltage withstand test
-Leakage current test
Prevent the risk of electric shock and fire caused by water ingress.
3. Function verification
After completing the rain test, conduct a power on test to confirm that the product starts and runs normally without any abnormalities, faults, or errors.
Requirements related to UL standards
-Common applicable products: outdoor lighting fixtures, courtyard appliances, security cameras, charging stations, outdoor power supplies, etc
-Corresponding UL environmental testing is often carried out in conjunction with IP protection levels (IPX3/IPX4/IPX5/IPX6)
-The experimental parameters include: spray pressure, water flow rate, water temperature, test duration, tube angle, sample placement posture, etc
